The Triple T: Tim’s Top Three
For those unfamiliar with my article, I will be listing my three favorite players at each position – two of my favorite higher-priced guys and my favorite “value” play. The top three plays at each position can also be used for cash games. As it relates to that value play, I am using Fanduel players priced around $3000 on that site as a gauge, but the plays can be applied to both sites, unless otherwise noted. Please note that these are NOT the only plays I like, but I can’t list everyone and truly try to narrow down the field as much as possible. Use these plays along with your own research!

Top Three Pitchers
Pitcher (No order):
Garcia (FD)/Anderson (DK)
Boom-or-bust: Ryan, Irvin (DK), Hendricks
Notes: Wheeler’s 3.22 xfip over the last month is the lowest on the slate and has a plus matchup against Baltimore. Baltimore does have a couple bats that can do damage but Wheeler should be able to do well here. Buehler could come at reduced ownership because he is in Coors and I do like him but I would proceed with caution as he just hasn’t been striking guys out at the clip we are accustomed to with him. Regardless, he is nice price on FD if you need to save a little from Buehler. Garcia is a roller coaster but his $8.3k FD price is fair and he provides a nice ceiling for that price but it does come with a very low floor but the matchup is good if you are willing to take the risk.
Top Three Positional Players
*These plays can be used, and are suitable for, cash games as well as tourneys*
Catcher (DK-centric position):
Value: Nola, Maldonado
Value: Gurriel, Hosmer, Narvaez (FD)
Value: LaStella, Lowrie, Galvis
Value: LaStella, Urshela, Lowrie
Value: Torres, Adames, Galvis
Outfield (6 for good measure):
Value: Yaz, Wade, Myers, Grisham, Herrera, McCormick, Siri, Vierling, Peterson
Top Team Stacks (both sites, no order):
Giants (Yaz/Belt/Crawford/Bryant/Posey) – Somehow teams continue to roll out Vince as a starter and the best team to righties this season shouldn’t have many issues with him.
Padres (Tatis/Machado/Hosmer/Pham/Myers) – The ghost of Scott Kazmir makes his triumphant return tonight and if the Padres can’t do anything against him, they may as well pack it in for the season.
Braves (Freeman/Riley/Soler/Duvall/Albies) – Merrill Kelly’s 7.43 xfip over the last 30 days is the worst on the slate.
Boom-or-Bust/Under The Radar Stack(s):
Astros (Alvarez/Tucker/Correa/Altuve/Bregman) – Junk didn’t look bad last game against the White Sox but he is allowing too much power.
Phillies (Harper/McCutchen/Realmuto/Segura/Galvis) – Akin has the second worst xfip on the slate to righties and will be facing at least 5 of them in a small stadium.
Dodgers (Turner/Betts/Seager/Muncy) – Marquez isn’t bad but lately he has allowed way too much power. People might see Marquez here and come off Dodgers allowing us to get them at an ownership discount.
Bonus: Milwaukee (Yelich/Wong/Escobar/Narvaez/Vogelbach) – Mikolas is allowing the highest hard contact to lefties of anyone on the slate and gets a good amount of them tonight.

As always, remember to make sure these players are indeed in the lineup and that weather is okay. Don’t forget that baseball is by far the highest variance sport but by truly digging in to the numbers and turning over every stone, we can mitigate that variance.
