Monday Night Football – NFL DFS Advice: Ravens @ Raiders

Monday Night Football: NFL DFS Advice:

Here we discuss the NFL single game/showdown DFS slates for Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, and Sunday Night Football, and the strategies on how to attack them. We will cover both Fanduel and Draftkings single game and showdown slates. These types of slates vary from game to game but the strategies tend to be pretty similar. Most people want to get their hands on both quarterbacks in NFL single game and showdown DFS lineups and if not then at least one. People rarely play both kickers or DST on single game NFL DFS slates. Vegas lines and player props play a huge part in building lineups as well. You’ll find updated Vegas odds here Vegas insider and player props DraftKings Player Props here. Last thing to think about is pairing a teammate with the captain/MVP spot and if playing both quarterbacks putting in a target for each. All of these strategies do make sense but finding ways to be different is how you will find your way on top of NFL single game DFS leaderboards.

Monday Night Football:  NFL DFS Ravens @ Raiders Overview

The first Monday Night Football game of the year isn’t the most exciting game but we will have to make due. The O/U is currently 50.5 with the Ravens being 4 point favorites. Baltimore has had a slew of injuries to running backs forcing them to bring in Latavius Muray to the active roster and Leveon Bell and Devonta Freeman to the practice squad. The Ravens have also lost Marcus Peters in the secondary so that may be worth noting. Make sure to check up on injuries before kickoff.

FanDuel Single Game MVP

1. Lamar Jackson

With the running back situation, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jackson owned at over 70% in the MVP spot. This pick isn’t going to separate you from anyone but sometimes you just have to pick what makes sense. He should see 10 plus carries easily and he actually has a better receiving corp this year with the addition of Sammy Watkins.

2. Derek Carr

He doesn’t draw the best matchup on paper but honestly, I think he will be able to find some openings and make things happen. Carr has performed decently from a fantasy perspective under Gruden and I think he may need to do well tonight to win this game. He is a discount off of Jackson if you were thinking of fading him for some reason and will open up a lot of salary.

3 (Contrarian Pick). Mark Andrews

Basically, if you’re not playing Jackson or Carr you will have a lower owned MVP and with Andrews being a multiple touchdown threat he can pay off big time. Whenever the Ravens are near the end zone you can usually place your bets on a Jackson run or a pass to Andrews. This is a great matchup and few people go for a Tight End in the MVP spot.

DraftKings Showdown Captain

1. Lamar Jackson

2. Darren Waller

Waller the baller should be in full effect tonight. He is essentially the Raider’s number one pass catcher and gets a banged up Ravens defense. We have seen Waller have 10+ target games in the past and be involved in the run game a little bit near the goal line. He will be given his opportunities and we just have to hope he does the most with them.

3 (Contrarian Pick). Mark Andrews

FanDuel Single Game Monday Night Football Flex Plays

1. Darren Waller

2. Josh Jacobs

Jacobs is an up and down running back so far in his career but has performed well when given the opportunity. Despite his spotty performances he seems to love balling out in week 1 and earlier in the season and I don’t see why that can’t happen again. This move is not going to be popular so this could separate you if this turns into the Jacobs show as we have seen before.

3. Ty’ Son Williams

With all the injuries to the Baltimore backfield, Williams is expected to be the starter. I don’t exactly love his price but with Murray being so new I can see him getting the bulk of the work. The Ravens love to run the ball so he should see his fair share of carries.

4. Marquise Brown

Last season Brown seemed to take the true number one receiver role over and not just be a deep threat. With the lack of running backs that have experience on the roster, I expect the Ravens to include Brown in on the running game at times. They will likely be using his speed to their advantage any way they can and he makes for a good stack with Jackson.

DraftKings Showdown Monday Night Football Flex Plays

1. Derek Carr

2. Josh Jacobs

3. Marquise Brown

4. Henry Ruggs

Henry Ruggs is entering his Sophomore season and besides Waller, it is unclear where the rest of pass catchers rank on the team. Ruggs has a lot to prove in this second year and should be able to find some openings in this game. If the sportsbooks are right then the Raiders will be passing late and look for Ruggs to be a deep threat throughout the game.

Low Owned Single Game and Showdown Punt Plays

Kickers are always an option in single games and Showdowns as we don’t know what will happen with that and I usually like them in games that are expected to be high scoring.

1. Bryan Edwards

I am not sure how low owned he will be but like I mentioned before the Raiders receiving corps are battling for second place. Edwards will give you a discount off Ruggs so you can fit some higher priced guys.

2. Latavius Murray

With him being signed less than a week ago it is unclear how much he will be in the game. His price isn’t the greatest on either site based on the uncertainty but that should make him be lower owned. This is a punt play for sure but I can already see us hating ourselves after he punches in a touchdown and we didn’t play him.

3. Kenyan Drake

Kenyan Drake is the new back up to Josh Jacobs and will be more involved in the passing game. He is a discount off of Jacobs and may see a decent amount of snaps. I think his addition may be overlooked in this one with all the news on the other teams backfield.

Thank you all for reading! Remember to not pay too much attention to left over salary in single game NFL DFS. Don’t be afraid to have 4 from one team and only 1 from another. It is scary sometimes seeing that you don’t have balance between the two teams but these single games are basically like the lottery and having something like that can be the winning ticket.
