Sunday Night Football – NFL DFS Advice: Bears @ Rams

Sunday Night Football: NFL DFS Advice:

Here we discuss the NFL single game/showdown DFS slates for Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, and Sunday Night Football, and the strategies on how to attack them. We will cover both Fanduel and Draftkings single game and showdown slates. These types of slates vary from game to game but the strategies tend to be pretty similar. Most people want to get their hands on both quarterbacks in NFL single game and showdown DFS lineups and if not then at least one. People rarely play both kickers or DST on single game NFL DFS slates. Vegas lines and player props play a huge part in building lineups as well. You’ll find updated Vegas odds here Vegas insider and player props DraftKings Player Props here. Last thing to think about is pairing a teammate with the captain/MVP spot and if playing both quarterbacks putting in a target for each. All of these strategies do make sense but finding ways to be different is how you will find your way on top of NFL single game DFS leaderboards.

Sunday Night Football:  NFL DFS Bears @ Rams Overview

We have the Bears coming into LA to face the Rams on our first Sunday Night Football game. The Rams are 8 point favorites in a game with an implied total of 46.5. Personally, I think that spread is a bit too large. There have been some worries about Darnell Mooney but he was able to practice in full on Friday so he will likely play. Tarik Cohen will be out for at least the first six weeks of the season.

FanDuel Single Game MVP

1. Matthew Stafford

Matty Staff doesn’t have the easiest matchup imaginable but he is a very talented quarterback who has some very good new weapons. The Bears pass rush is good but Stafford will be able to do his thing regardless. Some people may worry about the Rams blowing them out but like I mentioned above I think the spread is a bit off for this game.

2. David Montgomery

David Montgomery became a fantasy beast at the end of the season last year. I know the matchup isn’t great but honestly, with these two defenses, no one on the slate has a truly amazing matchup. While Dalton isn’t great he is better than Trubisky and should open up some opportunities for Montgomery. Mix that with Cohen being out he is a must play for me and a top MVP choice.

3 (Contrarian Pick). Desean Jackson

Jackson is getting up there in age but he is still considered one of the fastest receivers out there. As a contrarian pick at the MVP spot, he fits the description of a boom or bust player. With this game not expected to be super high scoring, one deep touchdown can break the slate and not many do that better than Jackson when healthy.

FanDuel Single Game Sunday Night Football Flex Plays

1. Allen Robinson

Robinson is getting a new Quarterback this year in Andy Dalton and honestly may get another new one later in the year depending on how things go. He is in luck with Dalton however though since Andy tends to target his number 1 receiver often if you look back at his Bengals days. Robinson will draw a difficult matchup but I think he will find the end zone in this one.

2. Cooper Kupp

The Rams receiving corps will also be getting a new signal-caller in Matthew Stafford. I believe this benefits them greatly and we should see more deep throws to them since Stafford loves to sling it. Cooper Kupp will be involved in both the passing and running game and tends to find the end zone on a consistent basis.

3. Andy Dalton

Dalton is coming into a nightmare matchup for his first game in a new city. However, he is a quarterback and those are important pieces to single game contests plus he will be throwing quite a bit late in this game I believe. He isn’t the most exciting pick on the slate but I am expecting it to be a lower scoring slate so he may be a key piece.

4. Darrell Henderson

The Rams backfield is looking like a mess right now so picking any of them makes me cringe. However, I do believe having one of them is important here and Henderson is considered to be the lead back in a timeshare backfield. If the expectations are right then we may see the Rams lean on him late. So if you think the Rams run away with this one he is your guy.

DraftKings Showdown Sunday Night Football Flex Plays

1. Allen Robinson

2. Cooper Kupp

3. Andy Dalton

4. Robert Woods

I prefer Woods over a running back on DraftKings due to the full PPR format. He and Kupp swap who is the number one receiver on a weekly basis and you can’t go wrong with either or picking both if you are doing a full Stafford stack. Woods usually sees a carry or two a game so he can give you a wider range of opportunities.

Low Owned Single Game and Showdown Punt Plays

Kickers are always an option in single games and Showdowns as we don’t know what will happen with that and I usually like them in games that are expected to be high scoring.

1. Tyler Higbee

So Everett has left the building which puts Higbee as the clear TE1. Stafford has had a past of looking for the Tight End in the red zone and this can mean big things for Higbee. He is cheap on both sites and should go overlooked in this matchup.

2. Cole Kmet

Going to the Tight End on the other side here with Kmet. We have seen him come on to the scene last year and come up big given the opportunity. He is a big risk here but will save you tons of money to spend elsewhere.

3. Sony Michel

Michel is likely to play back up to Henderson but I can see Michel getting some red zone work. Henderson is no stranger to the injury bug so if he goes down and you have a low owned Sony then you may see your line rise fast. It is unclear what this backfield will look like but if you are playing a few different lines then he may be worth the punt.

Thank you all for reading! Remember to not pay too much attention to left over salary in single game NFL DFS. Don’t be afraid to have 4 from one team and only 1 from another. It is scary sometimes seeing that you don’t have balance between the two teams but these single games are basically like the lottery and having something like that can be the winning ticket.
