NFL DFS: 2020 Cash Game Picks Week 13

NFL DFS Cash Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel

One of the ways I manage my money playing NFL DFS is to play 80% of my weekly entries in cash games. For the newer readers, these are the Double Ups and 50/50 contests on both FanDuel and DraftKings where you have a higher percentage of doubling your entry fee. I know what you’re saying. “How am I going to get rich playing NFL DFS when I’m barely doubling my entry fees?” Short answer is: You won’t. What you will be able to do is keep playing those big money contests every week. Cash games help you manage your bankroll with your cash winnings. Welcome to your NFL DFS Cash Game Picks!

When you create your NFL DFS Cash game lineups, there are a few things you will want to look at. You want to focus on high floor players. Each position have different stats that determine a high floor. Players with good matchups are typically good cash players to use. You can also look at how a player is used in their position. Vegas lines can be a great tool for making your cash game lineups as well as basic football things, like home field advantage. Ownership percentage is worth looking at as well. This article will be focusing on the Sunday Main Slate for both DraftKings & FanDuel. It’s a short slate for the weekend with 2 Thursday games, and one game moved to tentatively Tuesday.

Week 13 Cash Game QBs

When I look at QBs for NFL DFS Cash games, I want to see QBs that throw a lot of passes. Playing at home and being favored to win with a high implied total are important too. One of the most obvious is playing against a defense in the bottom half of the league. Factor in ownership and there we have it. You probably won’t often see me mention no brainer QBs here when chalk is assumed.

QB is tough this week in my opinion, so keep an open mind here.

Kyler Murray (8.7k FD/ 7.6k DK)

He had a disappointing game last week, but I think his shoulder was more of an issue than they Cardinals were letting on. Vegas sees this as a 48 point game against the Rams, making it one of the higher totals this weekend, and the cardinals are the underdog at home, meaning we should expect a lot of action from Murray. It sounds like his shoulder is healing well and he should be to 100% by game time. He’s still the #1 fantasy QB in the league. That alone makes him playable in cash this week.

Mitch Trubisky (6.9k FD/ 5.4k DK)

This is going to be a repeat from week 1, but Mitch Trubisky turns into Joe Montana when he plays bad teams. The Lions are a bad team. They can’t stop anyone defensively, just let go their Head Coach and General Manager, and have nothing really to play for other than pride against the Bears this week. This could be a lower scoring game from how Vegas sees it around 45 points, but take a look at how bad the Lions defense is right now with 2 more players on IR and their rookie CB likely out of the game. He is priced right to help you spend up elsewhere if that’s the route you want to go.

Justin Herbert (7.9k FD/ 6.9k DK)

Nothing like a home team QB against a struggling defense to make me salivate on a cash game QB. Herbert is in a great spot against the Patriots. The Patriots are not going to be the easiest test for Herbert this season, but they rank near the bottom in overall defense this season, compared to one of the best over the last few seasons. Herbert has averaged 336 yards with over 2 TDs at home this season, and I think having that expectation of him this week is more than reasonable. The line on this game has been all over the place, but it’s stayed close to even.

Week 13 NFL DFS QB Notes

Aaron Rodgers is drastically underpriced on DraftKings this week and I think  others will pick up on that making him see some ownership over there. I’m always looking at Deshaun Watson, and am still considering him without Will Fuller. If the Dolphins start Ryan Fitzpatrick he’s a huge cash consideration after putting up 419 yards and 4 TDs against the Bengals last season.

Week 13 Cash Game RBs

For NFL DFS Cash game RBs I want players who are getting a good share of the touches. If they are playing at home and are favored to win by Vegas it typically bodes well for them. I also want them playing against poor run defenses. It’s definitely a bonus if the RB is a part of the passing game. Many of the top RBs won’t show up here as they should be obvious if they are cash plays.

Dalvin Cook (10.5k FD/ 9.5k DK) & Derrick Henry (10.0k FD/ 9.2k DK)

I don’t normally do this, but I’m combining these guys this week, as there isn’t much difference between them. Cook gets the worst run D in Jacksonville, and Henry gets the Browns, who look a lot better on paper than they actually are.  I don’t think you can play both this week, and a coin flip may be your best bet. I’m leaning more toward Cook than Henry, and I think many would agree with me, but both will need to score a couple times to pay off.

Miles Sanders (7.2k FD/ 6.7k DK)

The Packers showed their issues in their run defense last week allowing David Montgomery 143 total yards last week. This week I think the Eagles will lean on Sanders a little more after playing him light last week and allow him to help the eagles back to the top of their division. The Packers have 8 of their starting defensive 11 on the injury report this week and with the way their defense ranks against the RB, it shouldn’t surprise anyone to see Sanders as a cash game pick this week.

Devontae Booker (6.0k FD/ 5.5k DK)

With Josh Jacobs out this week, Booker gets the shot at RB duties for the Raiders. The Raiders are 10 point favorites on the jets, which likely means Booker will see a ton of opportunities to carry the ball. The Jets are actually not bad at slowing the run down, but if the Raiders get up early expect a lot of Booker out of the backfield to slow the game down.

Week 13 NFL DFS RB Notes

If Myles Gaskin is activated before Sunday, he’s definitely a cash consideration as the Bengals are getting worse every week at stopping the run, and Gaskin was great before being injured. I am considering going back to the Wayne Gallman route again this week as he’s got a tough matchup, but been more involved in the passing game the last couple weeks as well. I’m guessing we see a lot of ownership on Austin Eckler after his game last week, and it’s for sure justified, but feels like chasing points to me.

Week 13 Cash Game WRs

Your NFL DFS Cash game WRs are tougher to come by usually, since there is so much variation in this position. You want receivers who get see targets as quantity is often quality with WRs. Sometimes you can play defensive matchups, but general passing defense is worth looking at. Having their team being favored to win by Vegas is always a plus. This is a spot I will often pay up for in my cash games for at least 1 spot.

Davante Adams (9.5k FD/ 9.0k DK)

Big pay-up this week for Davante Adams. After the way Metcalf made Slay look like he was standing still most of the game last week, it’s deserved. A bigger problem for the Eagles is that Slay could be out this week with an injury, meaning they have no legit DB to cover Adams. We could see multiple TD connections this week and with Adams seeing over 30% of all targets for Green Bay, it’s tough not to lock him in.

Jarvis Landry (6.0FD/ 6.2k DK)

Landry is super cheap on FanDuel this week, and though more expensive on DraftKings, he’s still underpriced in my opinion. Last week, in a game with good weather (finally) for the Browns Landry caught 8 of 1 passes sent his way for 143 yards and a TD. The matchup against Tennessee is a good one and hopefully he will be able to post a similar stat line for us.

DJ Chark (6.3k FD/ 5.4k DK)

We’ve made it a point to pick on the Vikings defense a lot in cash games this season, and this week is more of the same. Chark looks to be healthy and draws a great matchup for his return game. Glennon didn’t look horrible last week, so maybe having Chark to throw to should improve the game for the Jags. I’m expecting some deep balls thrown his way this weekend.

Week 13 NFL DFS WR Notes

Brandin Cooks & Keke Coutee are both cash eligible this week, with Cooks moving into the #1 role and Coutee being a cheap WR2. Coutee was WR3 last season against the Colts and was targeted 15 times, so cheap there sounds good! You can also play either DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett this week in cash against the Giants weak passing defense. If Allen Robinson‘s knee injury is minor, He’s in a great spot against the Lions.

Week 13 Cash Game TEs

Some of the things I look for in a NFL DFS Cash WR I also look at for NFL DFS Cash game TEs. Some of them are very different, but you’re looking for TDs. Ways to try and find those TDs are by looking at the TE defense of the opponent compared with the WR defense in the passing game. Targets is another great way to look for good TEs to use. I also find that TEs that play at home do better quite often.

Darren Waller (7.1k FD/ 6.0k DK)

Waller is here again this week as the best TE option we have for cash games for a spend up. The Jets are allowing the most TDs to TEs (Tied with JAX) and the 3rd most fantasy points to TEs. This is a pretty straight forward play.

Kyle Rudolph (5.0k FD/ 3.4k DK)

A great lower priced cash option this week, Rudolph had a resurgence with Irv Smith on the sideline. Against the Panthers, he had 7 targets with 6 receptions for 68 yards. The Jaguars, as I mentioned above, are allowing the most TDs to TEs this season and even though Adam Thielen is back, Rudolph should still see his opportunities.

Week 13 NFL DFS TE Notes

With Jonnu Smith taking time to heal his knee, Anthony Firsker steps in as the low priced TE to punt with this week. I also like the idea of playing Austin Hooper against the Titans, who have had TE trouble all season and they couldn’t contain Hooper in 2019.

Week 13 Cash Game DST

You can go 2 ways with DST for NFL DFS Cash games. The first way you can go is to play a high priced chalk defense that will hopefully get you a lot of sacks, interceptions and a TD. Another route is you look for the value DST who may not get you as many sacks or interceptions, but will easily hit their price value. Home defenses are often better, but look for struggling offenses to matchup against.

Packers DST (4.1k FD/ 3.8k DK)

The Eagles allow the most sacks, and the most giveaways in the league this season. This play feels like a no brainer. Expect to see Wentz on his back a lot in this matchup.

Jets DST (3.3k FD/ 2.1k DK)

Total punt on DST this week to allow you to fit in the higher priced players in cash games. If they help you to not cash punt somewhere else that you are not a fan of, this is the play you can go with. Don’t expect much for fantasy points though!
