Thursday Night Football: NFL DFS Advice:

Here we discuss the NFL single game/showdown DFS slates for Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, and Sunday Night Football, and the strategies on how to attack them. We will cover both Fanduel and Draftkings single game and showdown slates. These types of slates vary from game to game but the strategies tend to be pretty similar. Most people want to get their hands on both quarterbacks in NFL single game and showdown DFS lineups and if not then at least one. People rarely play both kickers or DST on single game NFL DFS slates. Vegas lines and player props play a huge part in building lineups as well. You’ll find updated Vegas odds here Vegas insider and player props DraftKings Player Props here. Last thing to think about is pairing a teammate with the captain/MVP spot and if playing both quarterbacks putting in a target for each. All of these strategies do make sense but finding ways to be different is how you will find your way on top of NFL single game DFS leaderboards.

Thursday Night Football:  NFL DFS Cardinals @ Seahawks Overview

This game is the highest O/U of the entire week at 57.5 and the Seahawks being 3 point favorites. When these two met earlier this season a total of 71 points were scored with the Cardinals winning 37-34. At the time of writing this, there is some rain expected for this game but nothing crazy. There is a slew of injuries on Seattle’s side of things mainly on defense. As of right now, Carlos Hyde seems to be playing and Carson is up in the air.

FanDuel Single Game MVP

1. Kyler Murray

I am thinking that Kyler is going to be the guy in the MVP spot for this game with ridiculous ownership. Nothing wrong with that it will just force us to get different in other places. By now we should all be aware of how bad Seattle’s secondary has been. Over the last 4 weeks, the hawks have let up 332 passing yards a game, and the last time they met Murray threw for 360 and 3 touchdowns. Murray gives us more rushing upside than Wilson rushing no less than 10 times in each game over the last 4 weeks.

2. Russell Wilson

The let Russ cook train got sent off the tracks last week. He had by far his worst performance of the year but lucky for us he usually bounces back fairly well. We have already seen Wilson throw for 388 yards and 3 touchdowns against this Cardinals defense. The Cards let up a ton of points to opposing quarterbacks so there is no reason he shouldn’t be able to repeat that. This game should be high scoring again like last time with two fast paced teams and Wilson will be a huge part of that.

3. Deandre Hopkins

Hopkins was a lot of people’s savior this past week with a crazy hail mary grab. I expect that to continue in this one against a Seattle defense that is allowing the most points to wide receivers on the year. In their last meeting, Hopkins put up a 10-103-1 stat line. He is still seeing a ton of targets and draws one of the most lopsided matchups in the entire week.

DraftKings Showdown Captain

1. Kyler Murray

2. Russell Wilson

3. D.K. Metcalf

I like Metcalf as the contrarian pick on DraftKings due to the price discount off Hopkins. Last game we all watched as Lockett killed all of our Metcalf lines. Well while I do expect Lockett to have a decent game I think Metcalf will take over this time. He is still seeing a higher target share than Lockett and I think he will want to come out swinging after his recent poor performance.

1. D.K. Metcalf

2. Tyler Lockett

Well as mentioned before Lockett went absolutely berzerk in the last match up. He had 15 catches for 200 yards and 3 scores. This is unlikely to happen again but he should still put up a decent stat line. I am unsure who will get more coverage from Peterson but either way, Lockett is a very talented receiver and gives you a small discount from Metcalf.

3. Christian Kirk

Kirk is always a threat to take the top off the defense and this defense is vulnerable. In the last game, Kirk was able to pull in two touchdowns but not very many yards. While the Seahawks are expecting Jamal Adams to play they have been getting beat deep even with him in. Kirk has seen no less than 6 targets in the last 3 games and is the clear number 2 on this high power offense.

4. Kenyan Drake

I thought it was about to be the Chase Edmonds show after Drake fumbled in last weeks game. On the contrary, the Cardinals gave Drake 16 carries which he was able to turn into 100 yards. The Seahawks haven’t been good or bad against the run over the last 4 weeks but they are ranked near the bottom in fantasy points allowed due to touchdowns. That is my concern here as the Cardinals like to pass or run Murray in the red zone and at the goal line. He draws a nice matchup and will have the work so he makes for a solid play.

Low Owned Single Game and Showdown Punt Plays

Kickers are always an option in single games and Showdowns as we don’t know what will happen with that and I usually like them in games that are expected to be high scoring.

1. David Moore

In order to fit all these high price people we will need a punt maybe two. Moore sees at least a couple of targets a game and it usually seems to be near the end zone. He has scored two touchdowns over the last 3 weeks and facing off against a bad secondary will only help his cause.

2. Larry Fitzgerald

It’s been pretty cool watching Larry be more of a mentor than a leading receiver on the field. He is still a threat though and has shown glimpses of that here and there. His best game of the year came in this one a few weeks ago getting a season high in targets, yards, receptions, and fantasy points.

3. Dan Arnold

An off the wall punt if you really need to save as much as possible is Dan Arnold. There is a chance that Arnold is the only current active Tight End suiting up Thursday if Maxx Williams can’t return. Arnold has scored 7 fantasy points in 2 of his last 3 games and gets a favorable matchup against Seattle.

Thank you all for reading! Remember to not pay too much attention to left over salary in single game NFL DFS. Don’t be afraid to have 4 from one team and only 1 from another. It is scary sometimes seeing that you don’t have balance between the two teams but these single games are basically like the lottery and having something like that can be the winning ticket.
